Is there a reason scooter wheels are not bigger than 100mm?

I was buying 841 Enzo 125mm wheels for a while, then the shop I was ordering from said they were sold out and the wheel was no longer being made. I ended up finding them at skatepro.com for like half price. I guess they lowered the price to clear out their remaining inventory. I bought the last...

    Is there anybody out there?

Hopefully scootering is just at a plateau and not actually dying. On the other hand, I recently tried to order more 125mm 841 wheels and was told that wheel was discontinued by the manufacturer.

    A concept

When you mention scooter safety, I can't help but think of this: http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/4-07-2015/uNt4nm.gif

HELP: GY6 scooter crank, but no start & fuel 'leak'

The electrical aspect is easy to test: just grab that spark plug wire with your hand and crank it hard. Just kidding, that 30,000 volt shock is no fun. A better test is to remove the spark plug and reconnect it to the wire. Then let the spark plug lean against a metal part of the motor. Then...

    Is there anybody out there?

Welcome back Ben. The non-bot traffic here has been pretty light for sure. This site needs a bot filter, such as successfully answering a scooter question in order to create an account. That might not so easy to add though.

Oldhead Needs Advice on Modern Companies

Apparently the scooter crowd now hangs out at 'social media' sites such as FB, snapchat, instagram, etc. I hope non-commercial boards like this one don't go extinct as a result.

How easy is it to build a deck from scratch?

I think if you made a 10 inch wide deck, it would need a lot of ground clearance to keep from scraping in turns. That might make it too high. If you make the deck out of tubing and a plate instead of an extrusion, then it needs to be thicker than a normal deck (for strength), and the deck height...

Hitting Knees when I bunny hop (jump)

My kneecap got so bad from that I finally had to put foam pipe insulation on my bars. My kneecap is in good condition now, but I left the foam on because I still hit it occasionally.

    Dialing in and other Q's

It sounds like you have an axle with internal threads, like those found on Razor scooters. The problem with that type of axle is that they stop tightening when they clamp down to a certain width. If you remove the axle and then assemble the two parts, you can see this. A Razor front axle...

Parents say I'm too old for riding.

I just turned 57 and I manage to ride twice a day. I even have a full time job now. My parents think it is OK because they know exercise is important, and lots of people my age don't get any.

My scooter is making some sort of rattling sound!!

When I first got a Razor Ed Dorado, it had a clanking sound on any impact. I thought it was the brake, but removing it didn't help. It turned out to be caused by a big chunk of plastic shoved inside the rear of the deck. The only function of this big plastic part is to hold the two spacers that...

    YOUR BROKEN SCOOTER

So much for the bargain $49 Razor El Dorado deck. The lightness of a 2.6 lb deck is nice, but this one didn't even last a year. I has one more of these decks on hand because I knew it would eventually beak. But what should I get now? I want a wide deck. Maybe sledge?

    Ask Questions Here

I like flange bolts, grade 10.9 or 12. Something like this: https://www.belmetric.com/m8x125-flange-bolts-c-2_1208_1221/bfd8x45-flange-bolt-109-yellow-zinc-p-7237.html Get M8 (metric, 8 millimeter) with 1.25mm threads. Be sure to order the right length. Add enough length for washers too. Get...

    Stuck Bearing

Loctite should do the trick. Loctite 660 is supposed to work for bearings even if the gap is 1/2 mm. Problem is, it is crazy expensive now. Ebay has the best prices. Some of the other types of Loctite should work too, depending how loose the bearing is. I wonder how well JB weld would work. It...

    Stuck Bearing

What about tapping it out from the other side with a hammer and a flat ended punch. Put the punch through the bearing on the other side and through the spacer and let the flat end of the punch sit on the inner race of the bearing to remove. If one side is difficult, try the other side. Once one...
