Yeah i know its a big risk doing it myself. I mainly wanted to be able to see through the viewfinder properly so i could set the colours nice and make sure the footage looks crispy because i probably wouldnt be looking through it that much for filming unless its longlens and i guess i can still...

Hey thanks for that Josh, ive seen that site linked on a few forums i found when searching what was wrong with it. I guss i need a new cable. I dont want to spend that much money, apparently if you just buy the cable you can do it yourself?

I got a vx1k a few days ago and its all dark blue and almost black when you look through the viewfinder. Is there any way i can fix it without having to my a new cable for $170?
