The 2.2 is still 2 piece but it is tig welded flush so no grinding is required which makes them stronger. Appearance is the same but the process has changed to eliminate the cracking that some people experienced. If you need forks right now I would not wait for the V3 because that might be awhile.

The new forks are V2.2. The official V3 won't be out until next year as well as the one piece bars. There are more things we plan on adding but that all takes time and money so just buy what is there to help pay for the new stuff.

No, cut it. That is what ALL bike shops do with bike forks that are too tall. It makes no difference.
