Yes you can but theres like a 80% chance it will miss fire. The camera flash has to hit the off camera one on the red piece on the front limiting your abilities. And Your shutter cant go above 1/200 on camera with the on camera flash. If you get a off camera flash and attach it to the hot shoe...

There is pocketwizards too, but those are 300+ dollars. Honestly the cowboy studio triggers work good, have never misfired for me and they work from like a ridiculous distance. Just getting into off camera ( like i am ) these are fun to play with.
