Blunt Bent Fork

Not sure where to put this- thought about Broken scooter/parts thread but I just want to give a Review and let people know that this is a BAD/ WEAK Fork.

It is the IHC fork that comes with the complete.

I sold 2 completes over Christmas and both have Bent Fork Tubes now

I've been riding mine for two months and they're still perfect. Now since you sold two completes, I would assume they're younger riders, since more talented riders generally prefer to customize their scooter on their own. From that, you can assume that both forks could be the result of someone who mistreats their scooter.

I ride these, my good friend Dylan rides these, Ryan's riding the same ones as over a month ago as well. Although, this is the original blunt fork (SOB or whatever) and we're all riding the Blunt Declares. That may have something to do with it, although I doubt it.

Joe,

Not sure how to rate them as Riders- they did want to build their own scooters but there are 3 Brothers=$$$ for Mom..so I made a deal with their Mother for the 2 Completes at my cost, a GOOD deal, (I'm not allowed to state the Dealer price per my agreement with the distributer) and the 3rd deck was a V2i and the KOTA bars I made, a used Phoenix Fork & a new Proto SCS. The last Scooter is holding up good.

They seem pretty decent- no Flairs but they can drop in to a Full size pool, 7 stair, Tail whips, Bri Flip (I think that's what it is called)

Twins are 15 and their younger brother is 11 or 12

I don't notice anything outright abusive in their use but I'm not around them all the time. What type of abuse would cause this?

It just seems odd that both Forks from these Blunts are bent.

They got them on Christmas day and ride about every single day after school and on weekends since they live close to the Skate park.

By abuse, I generally mean throwing their scooter. Although, flyout could have caused this as well. It's pretty much known everywhere that kids who ride a lot of flyout tend to break and bend more parts than riders who stray from it.

My main point would be that sometimes it's the rider, not the part. Considering they're brothers, if one rides flyout or throws their scooter, you could make a likely assumption that the other one does as well.

Blunt Ihc forks. by BenjaminJamesGarnett:), on Flickr
i got them Christmas, rode until halfway through January, then this happened.
EDIT: They bent because I was learning inward bri's, and i was slaming the backwheel when landing flyout. I'm not fussed, because they sent me new ones.

The compression idea is genius. Using aluminum to do it = stupid.

chromo IHC forks would solve this.

The Declare forks are forged, making the aluminum slightly more dense (therefore stronger) than the aluminum tube on the forks that come with the complete.

Does the Declare Fork use the Shim over the fork tube?

Just found out yesterday that out of the 3 Blunts I sold all of them snapped the Shim-

I didn't notice it on the one I took apart because I'm not real familiar with these Forks but yesterday at the park one of the kids showed me his broken shim. His fork isn't bent though.

If the forks or shim bend or break do you have to send the broken one back to be replaced or can you just send them picture proof?

I have seen two broken shims at my local. Only Blunt forks I have ever seen. The rest of their parts help up fine.
