braze vs weld

which is stronger as brazed products seem to be more expensive but is there greater strength as the parent materials do not melt making me wonder if this makes the joint weaker than heat treated welds

In welding and brazing, the strength of the joint often surpasses that of the base materials. But because the heat used in brazing is less intense, this process does not alter most physical properties and minimizes distortion, warping and stresses in the joint area. Additionally, brazing’s lower temperatures translate to less energy requirements.

Both methods produce strong, permanent joints but it just depends on what your working with. It comes down to thickness, tube size and the type of joint. Personally a nice TIG weld looks way better.

Yeah, the actual weld is stronger than the metal if you know how to weld correctly. Brazing is typically for small or precise applications as welding is for bigger/ thicker not as precise but still precise. Granted you can swap either to the different applications and be fine. You can't really "compare" them.
