Ok so Im installing my cane creek for use with my SR fork and buff bars, but Im having a problem with the insertion of the headset cups.

the cups themselves have about 12 mm of insertion. this known I thought it would be great to have on my scoot. I took off the stock cups but now Im coming to the point of putting the cups in, but I see that there is some sort of dent in the head tube where the old cups stop (you probably know what Im talking about). and I dont know if the new cups will stop at that point and not be inserted far enough.

If I hammer them in (it worked for my fsa so why not on this one) will they be too long and get weakened or will it not matter if they stick out a little.

thank you for reading and giving me some little explanations about what I should do in this case.

12mm is not a deep cup, lol. 12mm fits into standards. I consider deep cups 22mm and over.

If you're having trouble getting it more further, make yourself a compressor by using a long bolt and really wide spacers that it will cover the cups and use wrenches to tighten it in.

OR, well once i managed to fuck up my compressor (snapped a 10mm bolt by hand because the nut got stuck crooked), take it to a bikeshop and those mechanics will install your headset for a low fee.

12mm is not deep.

compressor is the proper way, i hit mine with a sledge hammer, no jokes, and it still sticks out a little but its straight so it dont matter

ok bump! I tried the headset compressor technique, but it still doesnt want to go in. I still goes in a little crooked. Its more in in the back of the neck than the front, so its a little backwards. Is there one last thing I could try before bringing it to the bike shop?
