Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX Tricks And Whatnot

K first off, i know that there was already a thread about this game a long time ago, but i thought i'd make a new one. the reason i wanted to, was so people that still play this game, such as myself and pete, could discuss stuff about the game. like its state of the art physics , tricks, combos, lines, levels, anything really. so lock it if you want. but yep.

I was playing last night, and i realized how much scootering has changed my style on that game. i used to just go for huge flips, like 1080 nothing tripple backflips, 720 nohanded barspin flipwhip to no handed barspin flipwhips, and shit like that. now, i almost use it as a tool to help scootering, like now i do 180 to manny to truck to nose manny, bar to turndown airs, and stuff like that. and making it all 100 pecent clean. i'll post some videos of me playing if i can lol.

Exactly. I usually do wallrides and stuff like that, more "realistic" moves, if you can call them that. I do mostly fakie stuff on that game, half and full cabs, and fakie turndowns down stairsets and gaps, since that's what I'm aiming for in real life on scooters haha.

Before i used to do 360tailwhips, 360 backflips, sketchy fakie 360 backflips etc... everything comboed with 360. Now i'm just into some long fakie combos and some really tech one air combos (my best of the moment: clean fakie to 540 dubwhip (in the game it shows: "clean switch tailwhip + tailwhip 540" lol?), sometimes i get them overotated sketchy :/ But yea, basicly 180s and fakies everywhere.

omg i love this game, and yes nate my scootering has changed sooo much!, when i played it last, i was doing like 900 barspin turndowns and 180 barspins to nosemannys to 180 barspins to manuals to barspin back into manny to 180 to fakie barspin and half can bar bar and shit like that. hahaha.

yes! keep em coming people. and i noticed alex said something about stairsets. are you talking about DM 1 or 2? i remember some stairs in 2, but i'm only limited to my good old ps1 and dave mirra 1 lol.

i was trying to do some clean mannys over the tops of t hings...and nice stalls and i was trying to flow stuff.....but you can't flow shizz in dave mirra. so i basically was just nosediving and trying to perfect that.

Yeah I'm talking about Dave Mirra 2, it's a lot easier to manual and stuff compared to the first one. Plus there's a level editor so I made a level with a 3/4 circle curved wallride, manual pads, random stuff, and a double set with ledges on the sides for manual and grind combos. Fun stuff.

And Nate, I know that in Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX Maximum Remix you can wallride, I'm not sure in the very first one though. And since I don't have the very first one I can't go and check. But I'm pretty sure you can.

Dave Mirra 1 on pc - BEST GAME EVER!

what I love the most is that Ive been playing it continously for 4 years and still I can find new awesome gaps and transfers. Here are some cool ones:

1st track: jump over the train, not over the flatbed, its even possible on a normal bike.

3rd track: jump over the house into the miniramp from the place youre supposed to jump up the roof as one of the goals for this level. Another cool thing to do is getting maximum speed on the vert ramp and then bunnyhopping over the pool, lol.

lot 8:
the best transfer ever there is from the funbox all the way up the bank that's leading up to the bowl section, requires tons of speed. Another fun and hard one is from the 'mt everest' thing (where youre supposed to frontflip over the rail) to the launch of the flybox in the middle of the park.

titanic: an obvious one is from one halfpipe to another, hard to do it clean. Another cool one is clearing that kicker to kicker gap with a tower in the middle.

ill post some more if anyone cares

one more question, has anyone else figured out how to do tailwhips on flat? it was hard for me but maybe anyone can do it.

dang pete, i've gotta try some of those gaps now. And i've gotten close to whips on flat. damn hard tho. you'd think a flip on flat would be harder lol

Just a little thing for you to do,if you do a rocket air turndown the legs are straight and it looks better.

i'm not sure about getting it on pc, but you can get it at most anyplace that sells used ps1 games for about 2-5 bucks
