what kind of grind?
and leaning with the curve and turning my bars in the direction of the curve also helps.

Find a painted curb. We have a couple little sets of painted curbs around here, and they are prime for grinding. For days without wax, especially if you've got a nice smooth deck.

you ride the same way i do and i found out when i grind the curbs like at a grocery store, painted helps or just bring a good amount of wax. I have showed a few people in my city how to grind them and with my instruction they usuallu get it in a few tries. just do the feble and turn the wheel with the way you are going; i always have my feet at the start of the brake, and where the Headtube thingy starts and i usally land them (95% of the time). and go a decent speed like 3-5 pushes and u should be good. Thats about it.

Grinding curbs is stupid, it just destroys your deck. But if you really insist on doing it, you need a SHIT load of wax. Layers and layers.

You need to get a rub brick for any type of ledge except marble or granite, you need to use the rub brick on the ledge, you need to blow or beat the dust off and you probably need to repeat those steps, then you need to spraypaint a think layer of clearcoat on the ledge and you need to wait for that to dry, then you need to wax the hell out of it. If you do all this, the ledge might as well have angle iron on it for how smooth it will grind.
