How to fix ovalized wheels

Dude, tape works fine. I have had tape in my wheels for over 3 months and it still stops the death click.

What your doing might fix ovalised CUPS, in which case the cups are separate from the wheel and they become ovalised, not the actual slots. If your wheel has no cups then I can guarantee you that scratching it with a screwdriver and beating it with a hammer will fuck the wheel more than it was in the first place.

Ok, tape normally lasts a couple days if you do more than flat barspins going 1mph.

When you hit the edge of the "cups", idfk what you mean by slots, it slightly bends in the edges...so it will hold your bearings in so the don't move around, creating the clicking noise in the death click.

You don't have to "beat it" with a hammer, all you do is tap around the edges...the material they are made out of bends easy.

If your wheel has no "cups", what the hell do you put your bearings into?
Please explain what you think the difference between a cup and a slot is...it doesn't make any sense.

the second idea looks like it works well, but tape works really good for me. I have masking tape that's only as wide as the bearing so it works perfect.

...I dont think hammering the core a little bit / gouging the inside is a proper/useful way to do it.

I'd just stick to tape lol.

Tape never worked for me, its just annoying having to put it in weekly when it starts clicking again.

Hammering the core (just the part where the bearings go in) works great. I did it to all of my wheels haha. Just thought i'd let people know another way of doing it if tape doesn't work.

Rob, how is putting tape into a wheel a proper way of fixing it? lol.

Facepalm.

Cups are separate to the wheels, the SLOTS are where the bearings sit in the cups.

Wheel with cups:

See how the bearings sit in a plastic cup, which is a seperate piece to the actual wheel. The wheel you are using (From memory, I can't watch it again I'm at school right now) had cups just like that, except made of metal. All you are doing is hammering the cup into the wheel further, which fixes it because it's not the actual bearing slot that is ovalised, it's outer edge of the cup that the bearing slot is in. Make sense?

Now you try to explain to me how hammering the bearing slots of the wheel on a wheel without cups will fix ovalisation, and not fuck up the wheel at the same time.

NO CUPS:

Ok, first...im talking about real metal wheels. Not yaks with plastic peices.

The "cup" is the part of the wheel that holds the bearing. Doesnt matter if its attached or not, metal or plastic.

Second, its not my video.

Third, hammering the cups pushes down the metal so it holds your wheel in. It works...i've done it.

Fourth, the wheel in the video doesnt have plasic...and its attached. its just flat, and has no paint on it. its a twizz. Not all wheels are skinny like the one in that pic you attached.

Firstly, why are you trying to get yourself a sticky by taking credit for a video made by someone else, when you put absolutely none of your own work into it?

Secondly, the Yak was used as an example, I never once said that the wheel in the video was a Yak, or that the wheel used had a plastic bearing cup.

Thirdly, If you knew shit all about wheels, you would know that eagle sport made their signature wheels with thicker slots, to prevent ovalising. Twizzler wheels have a bearing slot just as thick, if not thicker, so if you have ovalised a twizzler your doing something wrong. Not sure whether you drop off 30ft ledges or ride with an axel looser than a whores vagina, but something went wrong somewhere.

Fourthly and finally, why risk ruining your wheel for good when tape works? Half of the leeches that come here looking for help stuff up putting bearings in wheels in the first place, so what do you think will happen when you let them loose with a hammer?

In the end, whatever works for you works for you, but your idea of doing it is completely over-thought and has the potential for many things to go wrong, when you could just take ten seconds out of your life and put some tape on your wheel.

Holy sh** really dude? Its just an idea im sharing with people.

Tape doesn't work for me, so i thought i'd post this.
If they don't know how to use a hammer properly, they should not have a scooter. My 8 year old cousin can do this...

Eagles and twizz wheels ovalize all the time, what the hell are you talking about?

It won't ruin your wheel unless you beat the hell out of it. Which im clearly saying not to do.

Im not "trying to get myself a sticky". Im trying to show people another way of fixing ovalized wheels. It doesnt matter if its not my video. I never said it was...

You said above - "See how the bearings sit in a plastic cup, which is a seperate piece to the actual wheel. Its all one piece of metal...

Eagles do ovalise all of time, but Not the sig wheels.
As I said above, twizzlers have thicker bearing slots, and I have never seen an ovalised twizzler. I didn't know that the wheel in the video was a twizzler, I was writing from memory, and I thought that the wheel had cups. If your gonna make another smart arse comment about how you think cups don't exist, I've probably riden more wheels than you ever will, and I know what I'm talking about.
I'm sorry that I couldn't remember the wheel properly. I'm actually suprised that thread isn't locked by now as well, looks like you won't get your sticky here mate.

i dont need the sticky, i just thought that it would help some people out. But i guess you got what you wanted, for some reason you don't want for anyone to see this.

i never said they didnt exist. i just meant that this isnt for crappy or old wheels. not many new wheels use removable bearing cups.
you're the one who came in here bitching in the first place. i was just correcting you.

yes, a lot of eagles do ovalize. not all, but a lot. i've actually had an ovalized twizz. you clearly don't know what you're talking about, because you haven't had many ovalized wheels if you have never seen a twizz or eagle ovalized.

Mate, my eagles ARE ovalised, you just don't get the concept of what I'm saying. I've actually given up trying to explain things to you, I guess you didn't pass year 7?

You think I don't know ----- haha, who's the one banging on his wheels with a hammer and scraping the insides out with a screwdriver?

I was talking about the SIGNATURE range of eagles, e.g. Hep Greg, Cody Donovan and Fernando Young etc. and comparing the bearing slot in them to those of twizzlers. Twizzlers do ovalise, I'm sure, but I am saying that I have never seen an ovalised twizzler that wasn't defective from the factory, tampered with or treated incorrectly.

I never said that it didn't happen, I said that I personally had never seen it.

Learn to read buddy, or do they teach that after year 7 where you live?

i dont need the sticky

Sigh, I never said you needed the sticky, I simply asked why you were using someones elses video for personal gain.

Im pretty sure getting a sticky isn't a "personal gain". I was saying i dont need one, because you said "looks like you wont be getting your sticky".

Yes, i've passed grade 7...gtfo.

You are the one coming in here randomly trying to start a fight. If you don't like the idea, move on.

Last, im sure there have been Sig Eagles ovalized before. Not everyone has a Sig Eagle though.

You clearly need to learn how to read also, because using a hammer...fixes ovalization for a very long time.

Now get out of my thread.....you troll.

How does learning how to read show me that using a hammer will fix ovalisation?

Please explain?

Pushing down metal holds your wheel in? You do actually know the difference between a wheel and a bearing right?

I meant to say bearing, sorry. One mistake. ooooooowwwhhh, call the grammar police.

Why are you still here?

PS. Technically it does help hold your wheel in your scooter, because ovalization makes your wheel move, and this stops it from moving ;)
