It'd work but the tube would be really weak.
ICS is just as much work as a threaded headset only more dialed.
Save up for some threadless forks, too man.

by tube do you mean the steerer tube on the forks? and does ics stay tighter longer then threaded?

Yes, the steerer tube.
It stays tightened for about a whole day of riding if you use blue "lock tite".
It's pretty nice compared to threaded but SCS or HIC are your better bets. You won't regret saving up for it.

I think he understands that. He just wants to use a threadless headset with a threaded fork (which is always a bad idea)

Alright, I can't believe the amount of stupid I'm reading.

1: do not use compression with threaded forks. if you do, you're doing the stupidity equivalent of drinking antifreeze. threaded forks only need the threaded nut to compress the headset. If it comes loose, buy a small tube of blue locktite (the color makes a difference) and locktite the threads 1 or 2 threads ABOVE the headset cap.

2: there is no problem using threadLESS headsets with threadED forks. I actually suggest this, as threaded headsets suck.

hey rob, when using a sealed headset on threaded forks, you would just use the locknut as compression right? and why is it such a bad idea using threadless compression with threaded forks?

Yes Daily, you can just use the locknut that comes with it. Simple.

^what Mikey said, and it's superfluous compression when all you need is one nut. It's like ... Using an hour glass when you could just use a watch. It makes no sense to use when there's much simpler things that work just as effectively when done right.

its all personal preference rob, more like a old pocket watch(threaded compression) aged, been around for a while but still works fine vs. a g shock watch(new fancy hic and scs) newer, modern but expensive.

No, it's not even preference. In your analogy, it would be like tying an hourglass to your wrist, to know what the time is.

There's no point in doing it, don't do it. It's a waste of time.

haha i guess your KINDA right but i still disagree i like threadless way better than threaded, it feels better. thats preference

We're not talking about what you like better hes asking if you can use ICS on a threaded fork, And Rob never even said that he liked threaded more.

But you came out of no where saying which one is better, the question was COULD YOU USE ICS ON THREADED FORKS. I just don't see why your trying too answer that threadless is better then threaded in here

i wasnt trying to say it was better though and it was out of no where i admit but i was just putting my opinion of what i thought of both
