So Saturday night (April 15th) The Local Exposure tour was in town at the skate park of Tampa. The Local Exposure tour is a team of Pro BMX riders Featuring Dave Mirra, Allen Cooke, Gary Young, Chris Doyle, Cory Martinez and Ryan Gutler. So on Saturday night they all showed up at the skate park of Tampa and put on a open Jam. I was lucky enough to be a part of this jam and got noticed by all the pros. When I went up to meet Dave Mirra he said to me "You are RAD on that thing man" and I sat next to him and chatted a bit with the world BMX champ. Dave is actually a really nice guy. He thinks scooter riding is awesome. One highlight of the night was when I pulled a double tail whip over the pyramid. (Very small, nothing spectacular) and the announcers freaked. Then I went and did a triple right after that and everyone in the skate park freaked out. I could hear the announcers say "TRIPPLE TAIL WHIP EAT YOUR HEART OUT BMX PRO'S" haha.
One trick that was the highlight of my night was doing fu's on a rather large sub box with Chris Doyle. He was just doing fu's and so I thought, why not pull off a TIC style bar spin to fu. I pulled one first try and got that shit on tape and should be on the local exposure tour website soon.
I must say it was one killer night. I was tired as fuck since I did a little demo before that comp/jam at another small park in Tampa. I watched some truly amazing riding first hand. Gary Young tail whipping a 12 foot quarter over bank to quarter gap (very sketch). Cory Martinez double peg up an 8 stair to 180 bar spin out. NutsÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â??Ã?¦
This was my first time riding with real pros on a tour stop. Just wanted to share with everyone!
