Opteka's New Stabilizer

Opteka has released a new stabilizer, the SteadyVid Pro. Apparently the build quality is very good. And relatively cheap AT THE MOMENT (Under $200 US) It's normal price is $600.

I wonder how well this could work with extreme sports, especially for filming lines. I have yet to see any test footage from this yet.

Here is an unboxing video of the new stabilizer:

Since the handle is under the camera, it's of little use for filming lines since you can't get that low with it.

Yeah I'm just interested how this will rank up against the glidecam. My guess is that it will won't come close but you can only hope.

I hate steadyshot.

Yeah it's understandable, people use it way too much and film clips that only have 1 trick in it.

For $200 I don't see the purpose. A x grip is like $25 and it works fine, but sucks for like anything but lines. But I might get this

They also bump up the MSRP and have a huge discount price, it's Opteka's way of making you think you're getting a good deal.

glidecam footage looks so artificial, just learn how to hold a camera without having a seizure and you're cool
