tips to make fingerwhips hurt less?

i'm probably doing something wrong, but whenever i go down to fingerwhip, it hurts too much for me to throw it around hard enough to land. i can get the general motion and hit the deck, it hurts too much to hit it harder. if i hit it harder, i can get closer but then ill just destroy my hand...

so tips would be appreciated.

Just keep doing them, hit with your fingers, the skin on your fingers will become harder after a few weeks. Until then, man up haha. The only deck I've ever ridden that actually HURTS to fingerwhip is a Phoenix, or maybe an Ultra Pro.

well i have an addict, and i've never tried fingerwhips until recently so i guess they should hurt at first i had a phoenix and an ultra pro before my addict.
i guess i'll just man up haha

ya the only decks that hurt to finger whips are luckys, phoenixs, districts v2i/v2, ultra pros, addicts, asos, and reventons. TSI's feel pretty good though

Once you actually start landing them they dont hurt. Actually trying to land on your deck takes the "Pain" off your mind.

They used to hurt my hands too but once you get them more dialed you start to be able to hit it smoother. Just keep practicing
