Alright, today i left my house, really mad because i wasn't able to go to DK skatepark. So yeah like me i was just in a bad mood in general. I meet up with a bunch of people and we just chill around. We get talking and what not and just have a bunch of laughs, just hanging out being friends and whatnot. Then, we left to go ride. We went from spot to spot, we made this rad ghetto kicker out of a 5 set and a huge piece of sheet metal, it just completely shot you up and it was awesome. We didnt even do tricks off it, we just hit it. Then we saw it, a hugee hill. Me and Reeves look at the hill, then back at each other. We both are instantly like "race". So we get up to the top and were like "alright you push until the line and then you just have to coast, the finish is way at the hydrant down there". So we start pushing, and just go. The whole way down we are laughing histerically because we're just out there having fun. We got to the end (he won) and we just like fall over. It was completely awesome. After we finished off riding for the night, with seemingly nothing accomplished, i stepped back and thought about it. I dont need riding to do tricks and just guide my life. I dont need to go to the park every day or whatever, i can just go out with my friends, and just take our scooters, and have fun.
For all of you who take this sport too seriously, just take it day by day, do what you want, but most of all. Do it for fun. I think i have just finally realized that myself, even if i've said otherwise in the past.
I'll end this seemingly random thread with a quote thats stuck with me:
"Ride with Style, Ride for Fun, Ride for Life"
