Will scootering ever get as big as skateboarding and street league?

watching street league made me think if scootering will ever get that big. i know scootering will be in the x games real soon but i wonder if it will be widely/endorsed and accepted by the public media ie. ESPN. judging by what i've heard and seen scootering is growing at an insane rate. first broussard on nitro circus, upchurch at the pastrana compound, being a camp woodward option, matt mckeen dub whip love park and so much more. what do yall think?

if it ever does get super big like skating, it wont be for quite a while. and we dont have anyone like dyrdek in our sport, so that would just make events like street league impossible to start

It will never be at that level. Look at our community, most of you are under the age of 16 and dont know anything about how to make a sport that has potential grow. Im not saying i know how to but if we keep it the same way it is now, this sport is going no were. All the older kids getting into Nitro Circus and going to TP's house to ride get the sport up and then all the little kids go and fuck it up at skateparks. Kids have no etiquette what so ever. And dont say that skateboards and bikes have the same problem, we have it a lot worse. Dont get your hopes up.

I hope it doesn't get that big

Me neither. Scootering is mainly getting worse and worse is how I see it.

If you look at skate videos its all street cause park doesn't count.

If you look at scooter videos its like 95% of all scooter kids ride parks.some good at it some riding flyout all day.

So I mean if everyone was cool and not 12 and under this sport would grow more and more and grow respect

i'm glad people agree with me.
i find the direction scooters are progressing in a bit embarrassing.
i don't care if scootering becomes less popular. in fact, that would help.
less scooter riders would mean less scooterfags. the legit riders that were left would earn more respect for us.

i agree 100% on the little kid aspect. i hate it when im riding around i see people giving me looks in their cars but when im skating they dont. the little park kids are fucking it up, if this sport had more matt mckeen or maxime legrand esque riders, we would be just as well respected as bmx or skating.

Think about it this way. In two years look at the thousands of kids that have picked up scooters, liked them, spent $500 on parts and started to ride. The sport has grown so much in the past few years, who knows where it's headed. Its a given face that scootering is easier than skating so I think all the little kids are starting to scooter rather than skate. Maybe in 10 years scooters will totally dominate parks completely and the only skates left will be those OG 35+ year olds. You never know how much this sport an grow and can loose.

In ten years, scootering will be massive sport if kids stick with scooters. But atm it sucks. When i began to scoot, no one called me scooterfag or anything. At my local park was only 2 or 3 scooterers. Now theres like 20 kids every day. Under age of 12. It sucks. I hate them really much. I hope scooters are kinda fad.

Well said Chris..i think you are right.
and in my opinion scootering is only going to get bigger and bigger no matter what happens...i really don't think it can be stopped now.
