The problem with the oversized Suicides with built in clamp is that they had a thicker steer tube than regular oversized bars, so if you snapped them at the slit you couldn't use them anymore unless you modded a clamp to fit/made your own, plus it looked ugly and really served no purpose...

I'd suggest using really fine sandpaper too, otherwise you will see the scratch marks through the paint and stuff paper in the headset cups
