5050 Grinds

Im wondering if the deck you use can affect the difficulty of 5050 grinds?

Also, any tips to getting them locked in?

I'm not a pro at them, i can only do em when I can get a hold of my friends rail, but speed is a big factor, your not going to want to commit at first probably and your not going to go far without speed. With locking in, while I do it, i like to think of it as an icepick to 5050. I think this helps, because a problem with going for a 5050 is that you might get the front on, but the back is misplaced, or you get the back on but the front isn't. Of course, learn the stall first, then try to see if you can do up to speed and consistent. When you are confident, take it to a small rail, and expand.

and try not to move around at all, with feebles and smiths I guess to a degree you can shift your weight around a bit, but with 5050s once you get in just keep the scooter as still as you can with your weight centered and hold it because it's way easy to just slip off

I don't know why but when i first started riding i had them on lock, now not so much. But in terms of doing them whatever they said above applies. I feel they are easier if you come up next to the thing your grinding and jump sideways onto it. But that's just me.

5050s are harder on razor decks, unless you use box reinforcements. then its pratically cheating.

for 5050s, the only way you're gonna get good at them is by CONSTANTLY doing them. there's no real tips i can give, other than make sure you're not going too fast. if you do them frontrside,i cant help you at all lol. if you do them backside, don't stand over the brake, and aim at the object with your heels. for round rails, make sure you lean into the rail or else you'll slip off.

When you do em frontside. I can only do them on like 4 ft long ledges. but make sure you approach it like a smith but without your feet over the brake. and kinda push your feet into em.

Yeah fuck 'em. The damn things only open up more possiblities and varieties to new tricks and combos. Pegs are only for bikes, not scooters. Pshh...
