Why do you guys post somthing then space down and go edit (insert message), when you never really edit your post?

Ok so when you edit your post peope go edit: then type the edit to the message, but people do that when they haven't used the edit button

Ex zomg those bars are so cool
edit: nevermind they suck

and they really don't edit it

sometimes it shows up as edited, sometimes it doesnt.
