Look at the scooter mod bible, look for bolting the folding mech. Check the stickies and search before you ask a question. Also look in the Your Scooter thread in the Huges Threads section if you wanna see picture examples of how it should look bolted

Bolting a new a is kinda stupid but i still remember when I've broken the folding plates on an old a-like scooter (the profile of the deck was like this: TT ) and I had nothing else left to ride, and brian told me to get rid of the folding plates and put a new a foldy on it, haha. It was so ghetto but it worked, I still have that deck lying around somewhere.

And Eric, he lives in Estonia, thats in eastern europe and its hard to get a good scooter here.

Thats what im riding now, cause im waiting for my 2 old a's to arive. Its acctulay really solid. All I ride its park right now and no drops and such. I dont expect it will last long but it might do me until I get the new ones.

hate to bring this back up since its been like a month since the last post but i think its usefull, just weld it, the mech is steel. ive done it and it lasts as long as old a's and b's

I don't agree brian. Mine lasted 3days without rear dropout reinforcements. But it was not new (ridden by someone else for a month before). B models are the best if you reinforce them with two bars inside the deck from the front to the back. Mine is now 5month old, but it's far from being destroyed. Of course, i brake a lot of back wheels only, but mine fork is reinforced and doesn't break at all. It's not really heavy, i think Sprite+ reinforcement is the same, but not as strong as mine. Of course, A folding mech is shitty, adding a B folding mech will last you longer but if you begin, then you don't have a B folding mechanism. And of course brian you ride smooth.

It depends what new a you had. Theres 2 different kinds, the molds on the bottom are different. the part that you grind on, the box shaped part... if its completely flat, the dropouts suck bad, i broke mine in about 3 hours. But the scooter with the bottom where the edges of the box have like a bubble i guess you would say going down the side, last forever. Theres aluminum surrounding the wheel on this one a little bit. I dont know why this one last longer than the other but it does, my one new a deck that i stopped riding, ive grinded so much on it that im grinding inside of the deck and its still alive but i retired it. Ive had that for about a year now but i dont ride it anymore. Ill take some pictures tomorrow.
