50% of my friends are chill with scootering so i can ride with them but the other half has no idea that i do it and have told me on many occasions that if i scootered that they would not be friends with me anymore.
If that's a real thing (which I'm assuming it is since you made it a thread) then those people are only your acquaintances. Why are you spending time around other people who are shallow enough to tell you how to live and how to personally make yourself feel good? Are you all 10 years old? Do whatever feels right. Next time you get shit, here's how you respond to 2 possible scenarios.
- I ride a scooter because its fun, not to be cool, not to be part of some trend, but because it's a hobby I personally enjoy that feels good to me. What do you do? Oh, nothing? Just video games? Why do you play video games? I think they're pretty gay... What makes you think that the hobbies that are suited for yourself are better than the hobbies that are suited for myself? You think I'm not capable of recreating your own generic and unoriginal hobbies? You're a hypocritical loser.
- (alternative) oh you play sports/are in this/ do this. You have your reasons for doing it? Well, I'm a different person with a different life, and have my own different reasons for doing what I do. I do it because I want to.
- I ride a scooter because its fun, not to be cool, not as part of some trend, but because it's a hobby I personally enjoy that feels good to me. Oh, you skateboard/bmx? Why? Do you do it to be cool? Oh, you do it for fun? What makes you better than me again? I thought you just said riding was for fun, it's not a competition. You're a hypocrite to ride and say otherwise.
