Just wondering if anybody here lifts weights or bodybuilds? I have for the past year probably and was just wondering anybody else does it, you don't see many bigger scooter riders.

I wouldnt really call it body building, but i lift everyday, and wrestling practice everyday is also pretty serious.

I know a kid who is like 195 and started wrestling and said the cardio aspect is brutal. He's a beast.

there is no cardio in body building, b/c youre not actually in shape.

being big isnt exactly attractive, unless your from jersey shore apparently.
but for all i know youre doing it for the sport.

there arnt bigger scooter riders, b/c everyone is young and if you had too much muscle you wouldnt be able to do anything. unless you have like stan bars.

but FOR bodybuilding
i would recommend a cardio sport/exercise and yoga for body building. read this and look on the internet (yoga bodybuilding).
http://yoga.org.nz/benefits/physiological_benefits/yoga_strength_bodybuilding.htm
its also healthier than traditional bodybuilding.
there are tons of hella hard posses that require and help grow exceptional all-over body strength.

i took yoga once a week in highschool and my back, my bi/triceps, my abs, and my legs became ridiculously ripped (ha) i could almost hold a pencil in my back!

1.There absolutely is cardio in bodybuilding. You use it during a cutting phase to burn fat but time it correctly to preserve muscle mass. Also, everyone has different goals, some choose to retain their cardiovascular health with running etc, others do not.

2. Do you honestly think the pros lift for girls? They know it's unattractive once you to that big. You do it for yourself, not for others or you are wasting alot of time. It's also a confidence booster, and if people find it attractive, that's just an added benefit.

3. Look at pro football players, you can still be muscular while being extremely fast and agile. Muscle to an extent can only be an advantage if you train accordingly.

i wasnt trying to put you down or anything.
if you READ i tried to help show you something
im just saying i know a lot of dudes who do it b/c theyre insecure about their size.
and i wasnt sure if you liked it for the sport or not you didnt exactly make it clear.
most kids i know your age ARE insecure.

also im talking about TOO big. my knowledge of bodybuilding is limited, but i did used to run so i know about gaining strength.
if you have HUGE muscle like pro bodybuilders i honestly believe you are too damn heavy to be agile.
if youre talking regular athletic muscle+bodybuilding i understand.
i could name a few riders who are bigger, i think some people lift, but im not sure if the people im thinking of do.
some people just plain ride bikes and gain the upperbody.

thanks for the attack. 123

Didn't mean to come across as an attack, just I had a counter argument for everything. It all depends on the individual's goals I guess. Personally I do it to be stronger and to gain some mass, but I don't want to be huge like some guys. The strength helps pretty much everywhere, and one can be relatively strong at a light weight.

body building becomes a disease in almost 95 percent of cases, if you seriously bodybuild. i did a report on it at school. it was really interesting it becomes an addiction and you end up being, necessarily, a narcissist

My mom said it stop your growth and I can't do it till next year. Which kinka pisses me off because I wanted to lift before lacrosse season and just wreck kids. So I'm only doing pushups, pullups, and situps for now.

Yet another myth about bodybuilding. Do a simple search and show your mom the facts. http://bodybuilding.about.com/od/bodybuildingfaq/f/stuntgrowth.htm That's only one source i found quickly. Only lifts that put direct pressure on the spine MAY be connected to stunted growth. The earlier you start, the better, as long as you have already hit puberty of course. I regret not starting freshman year.

i can bench 170.
i weigh 120.
and i pretty much lift and just workout everyday, its what helped me quit smoking which i'm extremely proud of.
