Im not trying to keep making more threads about this like everyone else, but I honestly never agreed with the certain sign up situation, but I feel like this is needed, almost every section has a bot thread, this is insane.

We are in limbo. We're under a promise of an overhauled SR sometime this year and the bots will never be a problem again.

However, I agree it's gotten out of hand and it's pretty gnarly to keep up with as a bot will sign up and have 20 threads started in the span of 10 mins. We all collectively have probably deleted and banned thousands of spam messages and users but there is no stop.

I am in favor of implementing some kind of restricted registration. All can view, only members can post, just like it is now so the world can lurk but have to be some kind of referred system or get a user to email an admin about you and get you in?
