Building a DIY?

Since my township won't do anything for the youth, I kinda wanted to take it into my own hands (along with help, of course) to build a DIY. I have a few boxes and rails I could contribute, but where is a good place for it? I was thinking a parking lot but it would need to be really secluded so they couldn't find it and tear it down.

under a bridge, or if you find like an unused plot of land that has cement base, go to a city counsel meeting thing and ask for the right to build there

Find an abandoned cement lot somewhere, and ask the owners if you can build there. If you can, check the zoning laws for that area. No need to ask the city council, and that way if they decide to investigate, you can point to the zoning laws that don't forbid metal recreational structures, such as a basketball court, which can often be construed to imply small skateparks as well.

Ooh ooh dis my shit. With my DIY, shrimptown, it started with a empty foundation, some rails and boxes were brought and a quarter built on the side. I don't recommend that as the first step. If you find a spot try to actually get permission and go to meetings and such. You need a case as to why it should be there. Luckily we had enough support for ours because at one time we almost lost it and it almost got turned into basketball courts.
That's the first and most important step. If you get a solid location then you can start making more permanent structures from cinderblocks and concrete

I didn't really want to go through the township because about 6-7 years ago the community raised like 60k for a skatepark and the township wouldn't pay for the insurance so they'd probably use liability as a reason again.
