Building a Toolkit

Hello everyone, I'm not a scooter person myself, but I'm in need of a birthday present for my brother, who is very, very into scootering. (please excuse any wrong terminology in the follow post.)

My brother has a couple of different scooters, ramps and rails in our backyard, and he spends every day scootering about, going to skateparks and doing tricks. I'm thinking of building him a small tool kit that he can use to replace parts, tighten things, fix problems, etc. He's currently using my dad's tools.

From searching for existing kits, they seem to consist of wrenches and allen keys, though there is a variety of sizes. Would a allen key multi-tool and an adjustable wrench be a good idea? Are there non-tool things that would be a good idea if he's spending 5+ hours at a skatepark, like bandaids? What sizes are needed for repairs/changes? I'm thinking of putting this all into a hardcase, with a strap that he can attach to his bars to take with him.

(And as a bonus question, are there any suggestions for other presents to give a scooter lover? He's not into too much else)

Also a second tilt video is releasing in a few days that he will definitely be interested in. Other dvds also include Friendly's Lux and Addicts So What?

these beauties, they have all the sizes you'll ever need for anything and they take less pressure than a allan key to tighten
its alot more expensive than a couple allan keys but its one of those gifts thats going to last a lifetime

i think tools are more of a neccesity than a dvd as you need them to make your scooter run smoothly. also the companies that have made the dvd's have all released them online for free so he might not appreciate them fully, I just don't want your to give someone a present that might dissapoint them

It's a good point - though I'm sure he wouldn't be very disappointed in anything scooter related.

Either way, we'll be getting him some tools, at least. I'll run the idea of DVDs past my parents.

tools are a good start you could buy him a cheap part like pegs if he does not have any yet

Just a heads up, not sure how old your brother is, but if you get DVDs, just be aware that Armageddon can be vulgar at times. Catalyst isn't bad, and Tilt Video is perfectly clean.
