chromoly steel bars

- I just got my new miller welder and its a MIG welder. I DID SEARCH and cannot find anything about this so i thought ide make this thread. WOULD IT BE STRONG FOR MYSELF TO WELD MY 4130 CHROMOLY BARS OR IS THERE A CHANGE OF THE WELDS BREAKING CUZ ITS mig AND NOT TIG WHICH YOU SHOULD USE FOR CHROMOLY?!?

are you using GAS, Or just electric current

cause only mild steel is suited for no gas welding, all my chromoly ive ever used we used gas

& as greg said mig works fine but tig is stronger for what your material is

yes im using gas with my welder. so do you think i would be fine? if i did it ass good so there was no gaps before welding it and i made sure the welds were strong? or should i go pay to have someone TIG weld it

Yeah man It takes alot of practice to make MIG welds look nice. But I wouldn't be scared of them being too weak or breaking.
