College

There was a thread on this like a year and a half ago and it got derailed into arguing about drinking.

I'm not sure how many of you are old enough for this to be relevant. And some may be in the middle of it but whatever.
I graduate high school in June. I got accepted into university of Maryland last week and it is my top choice as off now. I'll be studying biochemistry and living in the honors college dorms there if I go.
I still have to hear back from a some other schools before I finalize anything but my second choice is probably university of Delaware.
If you are going into college, in it, or maybe even finished, post up anything about it. Where you are going or want to go or just whatever about it. We have a high school thread so why not discuss college

I also graduate this year, so unless I take a gap year and work/intern I'll be going to college this fall. I've been accepted to a few places so far but I'm still waiting to hear from my top choices which are Lafayette College and Washington University in St. Louis, so we'll see how that goes. I'll probably be doing architecture or engineering wherever I go.

I'm graduating at the end of this year but college is a lot of money and I have no idea what I want to study or if it will even be worth it

i totally understand this. While I have known what I wanted to do for the past 2 years, I didn't really know how I felt about leaving and living away from home and i seriously considered community college for a year until i was ready. I have gotten over that a bit, Maryland and Delaware are still only like an hour away. If you dont know how you feel about actual college just take some core classes at a community college and do well in them. If decide what you wanna do you will have some credits, if not ehh, its not like its a huge amount of money wasted,as compared to a university.

Carleton Collge Class of 2018 turn up
I don't know exactly what I want to do yet, but I know it'll either be in Economics or Chemistry, and part of a college education is help figuring out what you want to do with your life.

I don't know what you're planning on doing with that biochem degree. If you're making acid, fuck yeah. If you want to work for Monsanto, you should buy a bucket and a fucking rope. Seriously. I'm going to school in boulder at a really small school called naropa for poetry if all works out.

I see my self working in a lab, quite possibly for a pharmaceutical company as they will have the most jobs relevant to my major and interest.
I really have no intentions of entering into the environmental sciences haha so don't worry Parrish

Spent a few semesters at my local city community college. It was a huge waste of time and money and dropped out.

Being halfway through high school I've started to come to terms with such a topic as secondary education. I would most likely end up doing some sort of Journalism degree or go to an art school for film and photography. But possibly I'll go to community college to get a trade or two, such as welding and carpentry. I'd use those trades to start a DIY-styled skate park developer.
