Comparing the feel of BMX grips and stock foam grips

Hi guys, I don't know if I want to buy some BMX grips. Its nicer to have some grips which are grips not foamy '' grips '' . You know what I mean? I have some MTB grips but the ride is not nice. Its hard and solid but my foam is soft and nice. I was wondering if I got BMX grips, will it be same as MTB or a little nicer or nicer than foam grips. Can someone tell me the feeling and difference about them? Thanks!

I hope this is not a wrong thread to post here.

i really like ODI longnecks. the only pair i've ever ridden are kc's but i like them a lot. i love my grips too, they're toadstools. they are super soft, but really grippy. i used to think i'd never switch from foam, but now i'd never ever go back.

Erm I see. They look comfortable but I don't really like too much vibration and your hand feels it so obviously. My MTB grips was like riding the pure metal razor bars with no grips lol.

I like bike grips a lot, they're a lot stronger than foam ones (as in the don't get all ripped up) and they're cool looking too.

If you're worried about hurting your hands get some Animal Edwin's, they wear faster than normal bmx grips but are a lot softer. ODI Longnecks are sweet too, I have them on my bike and I'm gonna get them on my scoot too once my current ODI Ruffians die.

I don't know if I can get those Animal Edwins, so far , the only bike shop here I saw which has proper BMX grips only have DK Iron Cross grips and another DK grip. Are DK iron cross any good?

You're holding your bar too tight then with your hand. I've got Longnecks and i can do front scooterflips fine. I've discovered that my grips don't really wear off that fast because i hold my bars pretty loose. They started wearing off when i started giving my scooter to my friends since the beginning of summer. And when i sold my bars with those WTP grips to Erti, then they really started wearing off.

edit: gorrilla, it's worth a try, bmx grips are more durable and they don't rip apart when your scooter falls.
It's just at the beginning they may seem to have a diffirent feel in your hand but you'll get used to it pretty fast.

I don't like foam grips because they are so thick and too soft - not solid enough. They aren't durable and they get pretty slippy when you swet.

i wouldnt mind bike grips but you cant front scooterflip with them, at least not very easily..and i do a LOT of those..

well it all depends how people do them some people let it slide through and i can see this being easy with foams but just a little bit harder with bike grips. I feel that the grips play the most important part of the scooter because if it isn't comfortable for the rider well then you know rider won't get errrr donnee.

I can front scooter flip them fine.

I will never touch foam again, Foam makes my scooter feel like crap, can't even explain how much foam pisses me off.

Im riding Primo Josh Stricker grips. They are so thin and hard but I LOVE THEM. I used to like softies but now I think im sticking to the Stricker.

Edit: Foam makes barspins feel way to...light. They spin way way way to fast, at least BMX have some weight to them.

I got myself banned.
Bug Chris Barnicki if you like foam but like the rubber and tell him to make the whip scooters grips... i'd start making them myself but i have no foam grips and no money for the method used to make them :(

yeah, when i switched to bmx grips my hands hurt and got blisters and stuff, but thats probably because my bmx grips are hard. I like both foam and bmx, but bmx grips are better looking. Chris Bartnicki should make those fancy foam inside, rubber outside grips.
