a. until you are 18, you surrender your rights to the descretion of the school admins when you enter the building.
b. "the school dress code allowed for a student to be removed if their clothing was causing a disturbance."
c. often, the confederate flag is used as a gang sign, which is grounds for suspension.
d. also, the conferderate flag is seen as racial discrimination, also grounds for suspension or expulsion.

and burkas are a symbol of oppression used by men to keep women thinking they're worth less than men, and also symbolize the abuse women go through every day in islam, if that is allowed in that school, so should that flag. theres absolutely no way of defending the schools decision without having double standards.
just like that flag is used by racists, burkas and other religious headwacaps are used by terrorists it all depends on what you WANT these things to symbolize, and the confederate flag is not a black guy being tortured by white people, it's a flag that was used in the south for a few years, and wasnt directly made to show racism.
they need to either ban anything that is the least bit controversial, or not ban anything at all.

and you're talking about the religion that thinks its ok to beat women, and kill them if they are found sleeping with another man, and ok for a man to have multiple wives, but if the opposite occurs the women is to be put to death.
the women think its a feminist statement, but in reality, they're blindly following what the men want them too.
my point stands, ban anything controversial or don't ban anything at all.
edit: rosaries? its a dead man hung up for everyone to see, i find them a disgustingly bloody part of our history and am offended because some people who wear them are against science, abortion and a lot of them actually hate homosexuality. i can consider rosaries a a homophobic symbol of anti-intellectualism if i wanted too.

nikes? they are a symbol of how the rich countries use people from the poor countries to make them what they need for slave wages.. nikes are a symbol of slavery, poverty, and lack of respect for people in poverty.

lets not turn this into a religious debate even though there are certain aspects about it that have to do with religion though.
basically this whole thing boils down to, if equality exists, then all forms of clothing and decoration use by religious extremists and racists could be worn.. or none at all

Wearing a shirt doesn't make you a racist. Calling someone a n****r makes you a racist. It's a flag. Just because that flag has negative connotations doesn't mean you don't have the right to wear it. That's about as stupid as getting suspended for having a german flag on your shirt. The racism and hate attached to that flag are in the past.
