Crown Race on Scorcher

I am hesitating to ride my scooter without the crown race in my scorcher fork. The bottom inch or so on the scorcher is a bit fatter than the rest of the fork tube and prevents me from having a crown race. Any suggestions as to what I can place there instead, I don't want any dust or water reaching inside the bearings.

they dont, the crownrace is supposed to fit really tight on the bottom of a fork, they have a special tool

Just bang it on yourself or bring it to a bike shop. I'm glad to see you're a mature rider unlike these idiots who are giving you a hard time.

Yes, you need the crown race to rock your new headset, and no it's not smart to ride without one.

And all forks have the fat part for the races.

Thanks a lot Rob. I was just not used to the scorcher because I previously had a FrID Fork and the fork tube width was uniform throughout.

Or go to bunnings, get a pipe that fits over the forktube but sits on the crown race, get the crown race straight. Then smash the shit out of the bottom of the pipe on the ground, thus pushing the crown race on your fork. Hope that helps :)

If you don't want to take it to a bike shop where they charge money to do it. You could Sand it down a little so you can put it in your self. I just use bars put them over the fork and hit them down onto the crown race it normally gets it in.
