Cutting brake?

emm, i think it looks ugly. and have no idea what this cutten brake can improve... mb it will conversely make riding harder, manuals for example.. i just wanna know the reason =)

It's just for looks, it doesn't do anything. I don't think it has anything to do with performance. It may shave like half an ounce, but that isn't good for anything.

umm I've had the problem before of my brake heating up and then the end bit bending sideways under the stress, so I guess cutting it down is to prevent that..

Yeah they're stronger if they're shorter, not as much leverage. If you just cut the excess off so it's still rubbing where it was before it makes no difference in the feel of it.

yeah, really, it will prevent bending, thanx! now it clear...

I have some crazy ideas about break, like to drill holes all over the brake :D Will it make braking more effective? Im not sure, mb its just stupid, isnt it? ))

well mine bent and it wouldnt let the wheel roll
but so did the bolt thingy keeping the brake on
so i couldnt replace my brake and i cut it

i ride with a cut brake but i like it brake less but i put a cut brake so i could rest my foot on in and still ride brake less

ill just use this threadd


my brake (stock pro model brake) is bent and most of the time when i do a 180 to fakie my back wheel wil just stop completely and ill fly backwards, and im not touching the break at all when i land or ride backwardss so if i cut it down would that stop it from doing that gay shittttt

go steal a brake from some kid at the skatepark and if he resists then beat him up.

thats exactly what happened to me when i bent it before and cutting it worked perfectly.
