So the deal here is that this video: http://youtu.be/SFw890dnyZY was posted on Inside and Jordan was bummed on the amount of party footage in it. Some people agreed, some didn't. Some people said it's better to have footage of partying if that's something the person really likes to do instead of bird footage and time lapse sunsets.

The reason I post this is to get you guys to work your brains out and discuss this. Civilly, if possible.

Personally I think that party footage is kind of silly and is more trying to prove something than showing who the person is, but that's just me. I'd never use party footage (maybe because I rarely party) but I'd be down for some Mindfield style random footage in my part (of which there was some in my Catalyst part). Like the Catalyst trailer, which had very little actual riding compared to lifestyle and other footage.

I'm into it but tastefully. I didn't think that Dan edit broke any of my personal boundaries with it though, you know? I never felt like it was abused and I wouldn't have even noticed it if jordan hadn't pointed it out.

That was literally no party footage at all. I don't understand what the issue with it is either, if the riding is good and the party footage is scarcely edited in it gives the edit an upbeat vibe. Plus it gives an insight into the riders life outside of riding, it not only helps the image of the sport, but helps give the image of the rider beyond what they typically present to the community (Parties, DK's Almanac series, ect... are all examples).

Meh. It's just filler. He didn't get enough clips, so he put in videos of him shotgunning a beer and kissing an unattractive girl awkwardly.

I really liked the one skate clip, though.

I think that its fun to watch. Lets be honest, seeing awesome riding and that party shit made the video pretty entertaining.

I will say that drinking footage can only be pulled off if it represents the riders ACTUAL lifestyle. Whenever I see those ELYTS videos with the party shit and whatever, it seems that Zig is forcing it too much to the point where I began to think that the party was only thrown to show kids how hard ELYTS goes both on the scooter and off. I can spot out when kids put certain footage in their videos to try and look bad ass. This was acceptable IMO.

The thing is though, that Elyts warehouse actually throws some bangers from what I've heard.

its stupid. as somebody said, maybe if its entertaining...like a guy jumping out of a trash can on fire shotgunning a beer then dunking a basketball...that is worthy partying for a video part. but taking a shot just looks silly...kinda like "where the hell did that come from?". i party and smoke, but that has no entertainment value or even relevance to the video i posted (unless there is some nostalgic/sentimental value to ME). blah blah blah, that party/drinking clips in this video were awkward and made me feel like scooters were more of a childs toy than a mans sport. my personal opinion. dans sick though and im sure everyone in that video is kick ass.

and yes i witnessed that basketball dunk happen

But that somehow looked natural unlike what I saw in Dan's video. Maybe because it wasn't that greatly directed, just some random clips with low entertainment value pasted here and there.
