district brake on addict deck?

i was wondering if there's anyway to put a district brake on my addict deck, i broke all my plastic brakes and don't like flexies. i was thinking maybe cut the rubber pieces that the spacer goes in off a district and maybe it would work.

Cut the deck about 8mm so the brake can slide in further, I used a jigsaw.

Drill out the rubber part so it will fit the addict spacers.
Install as you would on a district.
