do scooters really need brakes?

i know brakes are supposed to stop the scooter, but i heard it fucks up the wheel and gives it flat spots. so i just use my feet to stop, or not to let my foot to hit the wheel. so do scooters need brakes?

It looks better with a brake and saves you from alot of pain if you land on your wheel.

I use my break a ton when doing wheelies so i like it for that plus not having a break just anoys me. Plus you can just put your foot down when you already have a break if your worrried about that.

ehhhh. in some ways. its a bad thing when your wheels are round and you have one spot thats flat because of hitting your wheel....

sometimes when you ride your foot goes near the brake, without one you may put your foot on the wheel then not move lol, some people ride skii and theyre hopeless with no brake.
