Getting the word out.

I love doing what i can to help the sport, and i am always trying to further popularize it and gain respect from people unfamilar with it.

I like to let kids at the park ride my scoot, and I explain to em all the mods i have made and how in hopes to get more riders. I also have a summer school class where we use laptops and i always change whatever laptop im on's background to one of the SR pictures of the week. And also just by riding all the time i have had some of my close friends start and progress really fast with me.

The indoor skatepark in my city used to not let us ride, but because of the recent increase in scooterers wanting to ride there they finally opened their doors to us :]]

What are some things that you guys do like this?

i always make my schools backround scooter photos.
and i let kids ride my scooter at the park.
encourage little kids to keep riding.
and stuff like that.

dude cheddie that is seriously awesome, especially about the skatepark letting you in

to help out, I encourage all the younger people that I'm friends with to ride, and they all are really excited about it and are trying to get good. I hold little trick tip seminars at the park when there are tons of scooter kids there and I'll have like 20 kids around me while I teach them how to like, 360 or tailwhip haha. it's really exciting to watch this sport grow in my area because I literally used to be the only one. I would walk into parks with my scooter and I could hear people laughing, but now days when I walk into my local all my friends say they hear people say "there he is! there's the scooter kid!" or "that scooter guy is crazy" haha

parents used to ask me where i got my scooter etc. so id tell them and their kid about sr, and yada yada.

yea at the skatepark i let people like the bmxrs ride my scooter and i tell them about sr and the said they would check it out so yea.

ive spread the word by mouth haha. People well tell people will tell people about "that crazy ogle kid who scooters".

Ive gotten asked countless times when people dont know me, if i know "Matt Ogle". haha sometimes i just play around and act like ive never met him in my life. Other than that, just your typical offering advice, riding diverse spots and parks, becoming accuqanted with other skateboarders and earning their respect, giving free SI shirts out so other scooter riders can rep them, etc.
SIV3 was going to be a HUGE thing if we would have finished it. I wanted to make alot of DVD's and give them out for free to different parks and people around my area. but that was a fail </3

I usually let kids ride my scooter. A lot of the kids around here that are interested in it usually don't want to ride out of fear of being made fun of. And because they're so young they get intimidated easily. So it's always happy time when that " 18 year old Kyper dude with the crazy sportbike stunting" rides up to the park on a scooter.

At school i am known as "Scooter King" because everyone knows that i scooter. People make fun of it until they actually see me ride at the park. Once they see me ride they want to know more about the sport and my scooter. I then tell them everything that they want to know.

That is basically all i do to help get the sport more known.

Haha same and then all my critics all followed me to the park and were like "Woah" when I started riding.
When Im at the park, I normally meet up with like 5 or 6 skaters/bmxers, but I went last week and all but two of them had scooters, haha.
And it helps that alot of good riders come to my local anyways, so we get respect heh.

Coedie pretty much has all of NSW covered..
So we need to do nothing to get the sport out there tbh.
Anywhere he goes he turns heads, so yeah .

and i go but you sh!t at skating can u even ollie u smartass
so that shuts em down
Today we were on a scool excursion in the city
and there were like these 20 year old skaters
and one of them did a tre flip
and the wanna be skate fag from my school goes
awww did u see that sweet impossible
so i scream out shut up ya noob it was a tre
u skate and i know more about it than u
he didnt say another word to me
=]

haha, i used to skate, so when n00b skater kids ride my scoot, i take their skate and like heelflip or bigspin and they get sad d:

^^^ dude I was at the park and there was this group of skaters who I'm cool with now, and I was like "here, trade me for a sec" so one skater started riding my scooter and I rode his board. they were all sitting in front of a flat rail and I boardslid it, the fakie lipped it, then I did a kickflip, a varial, and a bigspin. haha all the skaters were shouting to the skater on my scooter "dude you're out of the crew, the scooter kid is in! he's better than you at skating!" hahaha
