I believe in most of that stuff just because it's cool to think of the unknown. I have experienced a ufo sighting. That does not directly correlate to aliens but it definitely was not a plane or helicopter and it was a huge bright light.

i watched a ghost something marathon (TAPS)
most of it seemed bullshit except two episodes

where you distinctly heard a russian dude say "i like the man in the hat" (one guy wore a hat.)

there was another one where they used some meter thing for magnetic fields?
and they asked if there was anyone in the room to come close and turn on the light on the meter.
a 9 year old boy from a local town that died replied by using the meter to ask it questions.

they asked multiple questions repeatedly in all different ways and it answered yes or no correctly every time. they were extremely surprised and didnt believe it.
they also asked it to keep the light on randomly and it would until they asked for it to be let go.

dunno what i believe, but it was believable.

to evans post. i agree with most of that. i believe in ghosts and stuff, but i think most "experiences" are the persons mind. if its unexplainable, people automatically say its paranormal. like when people see a shadow out of the corner of their eye, they instantly say its a damn ghost. hey dumbass, maybe its a reflection? see if a car went by beofre you shit your pants!

We're the only planet with the right balance of elements in our atmosphere to sustain life. We have Carbon, Oxygen, Nitrogen and Hydrogen making up our atmosphere.
Scientists have stated, the chances of the same elemental balance, in an environment suitable for life (Temperature, gravitational pull, abundance of water, trees, etc) are astronomical, and the fact we exist is amazing in itself.

You're spot on with the subconscious mind part though. Tests have been done on ouija boards that say they don't work when the people participating are blindfolded, and it generally doesn't work with one person, as the feeling that you are not moving the plectrum (i think it's that) doesn't exist.

Bacteria can live in pretty inhospitable environments, and there is water on other planets and moons, where there's water there's usually some type of life, like prokaryotic/eukaryotic bacteria, and as simple is it may be, it is still a life form, it's just not an intelligent one.
