what are some good cameras for under $200.

Im looking at the fujifilm finepix cameras but does anyone have some other suggestions.

I had the exact same problem as you. Get a Fujifilm Finepix S700. I was going to get the Rebel XT but I didn't want to buy an SLR until I found out if I liked photography or not.
