Grinding/Hop Accuracy?

I am still in the newb stages (3 days in) and I can handle pipes (like 180 turns) and roll-ins on quarter-pipes. Almost flat 360s but what I can't get down is grinding, boxes inparticular. I always have a foot hanging off and the times I've actually committed with both feet I nearly bust my bottom. Ive got the keep your wheel pointed forward and I just read about leaning forward (haven't tried that yet)... but how accurate do my hops onto the box have to be? I feel like if I don't land perfect with that rear dropout on the rail that my rear-end is going to swing out.

If you grind backside (heels facing towards the ledge) then try dragging your heels on the ledge as you grind and that way you wont slide out as easily just until you get used to grinding. Keep practicing and you will eventually get it, it just takes time.

Yes you have to be more accurate. If you are not 100% sure you will get your deck in the position you want it, you'll eat shit. practice those 180s more.

id practice feeble stalls. its a good way to get the feel of the trick and practice getting in the right position, without the risk of falling. once you get confident with those, try actually sliding
