Pointless thread..lol. It actually gives you more room to move your hands around on the end of the bars.

i dont think people do it for looks. some people just like the way the ridges feel.

No, its not for feel. Most peole like to put their finger aginst the side of a grip when they bar, and when they are turned around it makes that edge bigger so you can wrap you finger around better. Kinda dumb the regular way is just fine.

i ride my grips backward. it makes bars feel nicer and allows you to hang your hand off the end of the bars to give you stability if you're bombing a hill. plus having the little flanges on the outside of your bars is unnecessary and looks retarded if you ride flangless which most people are now days.

personaly grips on the right way looks better to me, i will turn my grips round the other way though when my gips get more worn

I did it once on accident when i was like 14 because i wasn't paying attention and i actually liked it so i kept doing it.

Its about personal preference, everybody is going to have different answers.

They make barspins faster because of the weight more towards the center?

I doubt that is going to effect it, It weighs nothing. Besides if it were to make a difference you'd want the weight to be on the outside to drag the bar basically.
