Guide To Bar Height And Width

Bar Height And Width
Lot's of noobs have trouble finding a comfortable bar height/width, or they want to know which height/width will help them ride better. So here are my recommendations on finding your bar height and width.

Bar Height: Finding a comfortable bar height is very difficult. I recommend having your bars height in the area between your waist, and a little above your knees. Some tech riders prefer having lower bars, but that's really up to you. High bars make you look nerdy and bad; they also are really hard to tailwhip. So just find the spot for you that isn't to high or to low.

Bar Width: Bar width is very confusing for noobs. Lots of them want to go immediately to ridiculously wide bars; which is completely wrong. I suggest starting off riding skinnier bars, like 13-15.5 inches. When you progress and get better with those, I suggest going to your shoulder width; so your arms go straight down onto the bars. If you REALLY need to, you can go wider.

Well, I hope this guide helps noobs not spend tons of money on 20" wides, and helps them find a better bar height. The end.

Bar width is spot on, your arms should be just about straight down, that will work best. My bars are pretty much exactly between my knees and hip bones, and I think that should be about how people should ride them, depending (of course) on riding style.

Why not start with 18" or wider even? that way you can cut them down and actually try different widths without having to buy new ones each time.

And anyone over 5 foot tall should probably be riding no less than 18" wide anyways IMO.

If your bar width is more than your bar hight then somthing is wrong lol.

With me, I find my perfect height to be, as crued as it sounds, my balls basically would sit on the top of the t-bar, haha.
I run 21 1/2 high by 15 wide. I may go up to 16's though when I do get a new set.

I've ran that hieght ever since I started riding. I tried others going higher and lower and I just prefer that exact height. No I just need a set of one piece bars, running stocks right now, and I hate it.

sooo true.

Tbh, i think, the perfect bar width isnt your shoulders or whatever, its what you as a rider feel comfortable with and feel comfortale to ride

i actually agree with joe, its whatever you feel comfortable riding.
i ride 21 h 15 w but if i wanted to ride like 30 high and 30 wide and was comfortable i wouldnt care.
it all depends on the rider and the riders style.

This thread isn't about riders that have been riding for a while and have found
their "perfect" width, this is a thread for new riders that need to know what sizes
they should start off with. I think stock size or up to 15 wide should be perfect
for beginners and younger/littler riders.

On a side note, I think anything over 18 wide looks dumb.
We are on scooters not bikes. Catch my drift?

What if your dick hangs down to your knees?

I like my bars at the height of about the bottom of my pocket. 21 actually. I think it's about right if you stand on the deck and let you arms and fingers hang, and stant straight up while you're finger tips are loose on the bars, if you can stand fully up and have like half the grip its good. Width is pretty much whatever as long as its no wider than tall and not skinnier than 15 or so if you're doing bars, because they dont count then.
