hic problem

i just got the pry bars w/ hic from lucky. i got everything on and every trick the headset wont stop becoming loose. the starnut is not stripped i checked

Hmm tighten the hic a good amount but not too much. try locktite.

could it be the headset isnt on right? the fsa dh pro headset didnt come with a compression ring

It definitely should have come with one. That is clearly the problem.

no, thats not the problem. dh pros dont come with a compression ring. ive owned two, and they were both dialed. locktite

well my sealed one came with a gold compression like ring in with the top bearing so if yours doesn't have that then yeah it's the problem.

i thought a compression ring was like what comes with a cane creek, if you pick up your deck with the compression ring put on your fork wont fall out. or maybe thats called a pinch ring

I tighten mine as much as it goes and it still wobbles a ton

the gold ring is the upper bearing race and it definantly doesnt come with a compresson ring. the installation sheet listed all the parts and the compression ring wasnt there. it seems to be staying now. will locktite make me not be able to take out the bolt?

All threadless headsets have to have a compression ring or else they wont fit snug on the fork and knock around.

my friends has the same bars and had this problem make sure the slits on the hic shim are on the botom

i think it might be the shim because when i ordered my lucky pros they didnt give me the shim so i cut the bottom off old inward bars and had to hammer it on and probably didnt even need the top cap
