i've been thinking about doing this for kids who have stock bars and don't like the big clamp, but don't have access to a drill, and yohanan's thread finally inspired me to do it.
For this modification you will need
1 5mm allen key
Some kind of bolt/screw, and nut
spacers
screwdriver or wrench to tighten the nut onto the bolt/screw.
Step 1. Take the allen key, and untighten the clamp as shown:
It should look like this after you take everything off-
Step 2. Put in your bolt/screw (I used a screw), and make sure you have some spacers (the little metal ones that come on the clamp work nicely), and put the nut on the other end and tighten.
End result looks like this-
So yea, its a very simple mod, and it helps tons if you can't afford one piece bars, and its pretty good at preventing your knee from getting destroyed by the clamp arm.
