How to dye wheels?

I know how but i boiled the water hot enough that it bubbles immensly, then put the rit dye in mixed it for 30 s, then i poured it into a pan. After that i placed and taped my wheels in the hot water with the dye. its been two hours since i did this and the wheels a little darker than normal but they aren't black. Do I have to wait longer or did i do something wrong?

Maybe pour some more boiling water in to it.
