Hurricane Ike - Edit by Daniel W.

I own SR.
Louisiana is about to get some serious storm surge too so don't forget about them.

My entire family is evacuated for the second time in like 2 weeks.

The East side of the storm always gets it worse.

It was like 40 miles away from Houston last night when it hit at 1 in the morning. I'm going to call my grandpop today to see how everything is

It always shocks me in a way, how close some of us all become, that when stuff like this happens..Were always trying to make sure one another is all right.

Its always tough knowing people are going through something like this, something unavoidable. But it makes it harder knowing that you got friends or family in that area. So yea, i hope everyone in Ikes path is safe.

My grandpop said all of his fence is out of the ground, and this 4 foot wide tree is ripped out of the ground, and he said he got more wind than rain which is good in a way. He boarded up his windows and the worse past and him, my step grandmom, and 2 aunts are safe.

Thank you all very much <3

I just got power on about an hour ago, i think around 4 million people are still powerless. The destruction around here is bad, so many houses had trees fall on them and roofs fly off, trees are down everywhereeeee and there was some flooding but not too much. Galveston is wrecked, some things along the seawall got completely flooded and there is so much flooding across the entire island it's insane. They aren't letting anyone back in at this point, but there is so much destruction there it's devastating. Downtown Houston is really bad. My brother lives in midtown which is a few blocks from downtown and today he managed to get through the police blockade on his bike by telling them he lived in there, nobody is being allowed in. He rode his bike through downtown and said it looks like ground zero, glass is everywhere because all the skyscrapers window's got blown out, and debris is all over the place. Overall, this thing was pretty rough. I got off really lucky, no damage or flooding and I got my power back on relatively early. I filmed just a few things that were on my street and around but I was unable to get anything really bad, just a few pretty cool sights. I'll upload that later, check the link below for some pictures taken the other day, this was still before even more destruction happened though.
