i have questions/need to get facts straight.

1. Was scootering once a big thing, but then faded away, and now its back into the bigtime again?
2. How / when did Team Razor get started, and who was the first person on it?
3. How long has freestyle scootering been around?
4. when did The Scooter Resource come about?
5. if there was a "break" in freestlye scootering, how likely would it be to see someone doing hardcore tricks?
6. i need quotes for this magazine article, so i would like to know what YOU think will happen to scootering in the future
7. how / when did modifications to scooters come about?

if i have anymore q's i will post them in this thread. thanks to all that help!

p.s. what size font is a mag article usually typed in?

1. scootering used to be big among younger kids, never really a huge freestyle scene though. I think freestyle has only increased from the beginning, i mean we have only progressed.
3. I think freestyle has been around since scooters were first put on the market, i know jarret reid backflipped some time around the huge razor scooter fad in the early 2000's.
4. i think andrew can give you a real good answer, but there have been 3 (i think) scooteresources including this one. The first one wasnt meant to be a big forum like this, it started out as just a rider database pretty much, sorted alphabetically were riders names and you could look at some info on them like their best tricks, scooter were riding and a few pictures.
5. i dont really get this question
6. I think that scooters will only get bigger, im sure there will be some ups and downs but judging by the steady increase in competitions, videos, and teams internationally, things are going very well. Tricks are getting out of control with people doing backflip and 360 combos with tricks people were barely getting straight a year ago. Also, with razor adding some fresh riders to their roster, and micro sponsering US riders, along with some smaller companies popping up (RAD, SR) riders are finding it much easier to progress since scooters are stronger and they can acquire new ones much easier than ever.
7. Josh Toy was the first to lock a folding mech and put a b folding mechanism on a new a, not sure when, maybe someone else knows

Not true. About 2 weeks after I got my old Razor scooter, when they had just been released I started complaining about my bars. So my dad popped off the snap rings and stuck a bolt through there.

i think owen meant like his bars were moving back and forth. the bars are attached to the mech. if the mech is loose the bars will move back and forth.

BK, like if there was a stop in freestyle scootering for a while and most people stopped doing it, what were the chances of seeing a person doing freestlye moves during this "break" (but i think you've established the fact that freestyle only grew since it started) does this help you?

When there's a "break" like you described, that basically means that the sport is dead...

man its those lil kids that giv us the bad name not meaning those 1s that give riding sk8parks a go but those lil pussy 1s r the 1s that giv us the bad name!
my resolution: kill them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Derek Rides , I don't think BK or anyone can really answer that question. How would they know? Its the future and I don't think it has happened before and another thing , I don't think there will be a " break " anytime soon. I don't really know of anyone who stopped scooters but I know alot of just started.

haha idk, i guess i dont really see the point of the question.. i guess if there was a break in freestyle people would just progress slower and no new kids would come into the scene and learn tricks like crazy..if you saw any kids that have been riding for a real long time during the break theyd probably still be doing some good tricks, but might not be motivated to go out and learn new ones

edit: im sure there were a few people before josh to lock a folding mech, but i think hes the first to really prove it and put up directions on how to do it with pictures and junk.
