HEADSETS/FORKS:
How do I remove my fork?
Undo the clamp at the bottom of your bars, then unscrew your bars. Unscrew the two bolts on the top of the fork. Take note of which way the bearings are put in. Slide the fork out of the bottom of the headtube, and take note of the bottom bearings aswell. Set the bearings aside on a clean surface or material to prevent them from losing their spin.
What size and type of headset can I buy?
Look for headsets that are 1 1/8" in size. It needs to be threadless. Sealed or unsealed is down to personal preference, but either works well.
Do I need a threadless fork?
No. Threadless headsets will work with any type of fork. Using the top bolt from the stock headset will act the same way as a compression system, and compress the new headset and keep it tight.
Will a stock headset work on a threadless fork?
No. The threads on the headset are too small to fit over the fork. You will need to buy a threadless headset as well as a compression system.
How do I install the headset?
Hit the old bearing cups out with a hammer and large screwdriver, then gently hit or push (with a vice or similar) the new bearing cups in. For the crown race, hit the old one off with a screwdriver and hammer. To install the new one, use a screwdriver and hammer lightly, or find something that fits over the fork that can act as a hammer, such as a pipe or vice. The rest is assembled as shown on the instructions that came with the new headset. Visit the pinned Modding Thread for a video tutorial.
WHEELS:
What kind of wheels can I use?
Sizes mainly used are 100mm and 110mm, although it is possible to use 125mm wheels. Smaller than 100mm gives less ground clearance and make riding difficult. Speed inline wheels are also used. If you are unsure which wheel is best for you, refer to the Wheels Review Thread.
What kind of bearings do I use in my wheels?
Any kind of skateboard or rollerblade bearing can fit in your wheels. ABEC ratings do not determine size or compatibility. Find reviews and prices of bearings to help choose the ones you like.
