ya true, making a custom will be a hassle and it might turn out sick but in the end it would be more work and $$ then to just go out and by a pro model. and it would be almost the same thing give or take some dimensions and weight

If you feel like you want to make your own, then just look at a pro model and think of how to enhance it. If not, just get a couple pros.

if someone else gives you the idea to make a deck then it is practically their deck. think of your own design and make it. so you can take the credit.

pete pachota is the only person who had made an entire scooter, excluding the brake. Maybe look at his thread to get some ideas...

3/4" aluminum square tubing - 4ft. http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?pid=6887&step=4&showunits=inches&id=69&top_cat=60
3/16" aluminum sheet metal - 2ft. http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?pid=1247&step=4&showunits=inches&id=76&top_cat=60
Metal screws or pop rivets
5 x 5/16" bolts
5 x 5/16" spaces x 3 inches long
1/4" washers(alot)
5/16" aluminum plates - 5x5" http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?pid=1249&step=4&showunits=inches&id=76&top_cat=60

You need..
Drill
Dremel
Hack saw or jig saw
Pop rivet gun (optional)
Screw driver drill bit

And then you assemble, it's not self explanitory but if you put your mind to it you could make your own deck, but if you gave me like $100 i could make you one.

why would someone tell you how to make your own scooter?
the point of it being your own is it being your own.
not someone elses, use your imagination.
create something your own, something original.

What's up with bolting scooter decks!?!? Why not weld them? As soon as one bolt comes even slightly loose it will rattle and could potentially screw you over! Whereas welding them is secure... Unless you really suck!
