New Deck Sketch-Up Design. Simple.

So I was bored today and decided to make another deck in sketch-up. It uses wood, but it's re-enforced so check it out:

The thing that is simple about it is the amount of fabrication:

Only two parts you would need to make:

If anybody knows anything about machining, could you tell me if those two parts are possible to make at a cheap price.

yeah, and its, not really sitting on the wood during grinds, so i guess it's only being used for it lightness?

the other would be more expensive because of the 3d-ness (tired cant think of a better way to explain) but it still looks pretty simple.

you could make that easily and cheaply if you had a slab of aluminum and a jig saw with the appropriate blade, or just a sawz-all
and a drill press

I bet you could make something like that for $15-$20 or so. Also bolt the wood to the grind bars in more places.

if i were not shit at sketchup I'd design a deck or two. any good tutorials?

I'm pretty glad to see some new exciting new ideas from other people.

But it's still not flawless.

The middle deck rails are too flat = it'll bend.
Plus, most likely those screws will snap if you'd pull the bars back or manage to bend the dropouts way too much up.

nice design but it could still be improved but nice idea looks sweet i would buy it it wasnt too exspensive

if you are good with metal, and have the tools and time its posible. If you spend about an hour a day working on it you good get it done in a couple of weeks, I say give it a try.
