newbie wanting to build from scratch

Hey all!

I'm new to the scene and quite fancied sourcing the prts and building my own scooter from Scratch.

So my question is-
Is there a list of every single part that is needed? (Or can anyone create one)? (I know this is quite a stupid question! But have to start simple)! I'm wanting to keep cost quite low/nothing too fancy so think I want to go with threaded parts.

Any other tips? Or suggestions of posts or articles is appreciated!

Thanks

Well if you're new to the scene, I'd highly reccommend that you start off with buying something like a razor ultra pro complete rather than building your own scooter. But yeah i guess he^ covered it all, except griptape

Hmm yeah, I get your point but seems more fun this way!

If I was to buy bits off eBay etc would I be missing the headset/nuts to secure bars to fork?

Where do you live?

As mentioned you might as well just buy a Razor Ultra Pro or something similar if you live outside the USA.

... only because you mentioned using a Thread Fork, if you are going to build from scratch I wouldn't bother with a Threaded fork BUT it will add to the cost which goes against your request to keep it cheap.

... the cheapest route is buying a RUP or something similar and then as you ride and get more familiar with the Sport and all of parts then it will be much easier to decide on upgrades.

This site has pretty good videos about all of the different parts on a Scooter

It is IMPOSSIBLE to build from scratch with 60

+1.

I'd go with an MGP Team Edition (2011 version) or a Razor Ultra Pro. Theres no way you'll be able to build from scratch with that much. If you get an MGP, no worries about wheels. If you get a RUP, you'll need wheels and probably end up switching to threadless forks + headset.

Lol I won't argue, but I managed to Work it out with all eBay 2nd hand parts!- but then I guess I won't really know what I'm getting and could be very shoddy quality.
Fuziom elite looks awesome, although doesn't look like its available in uk
