nose manuals hurting wrists

so i recently started trying nose manuals and i find i have to put a lot of pressure on my wrists to stay in the balance point (same goes for hang 5s), after a while i get sore wrists from doing either of these tricks. is this normal and is there a way around this problem. i find taking my pressure off my wrists makes the manual much harder. any help would be appreciated.
